Favourite Shoreditch Spots

I used to live in Central London and so I have visited Shoreditch quite often. Now that I have moved to a different part of London, I thought that I would create this blog as a little reminder of what is on offer for memories sake but also to help anyone visiting the area and wondering where to explore. There are so many cool and amazing places to visit in Shoreditch and I hope this blog demonstrates that.

Boxpark

First, Boxpark is one of my favourite unique places to shop. Whether you just want to go to window shop and order online, or buy there, this place satisfies many needs. The whole concept of pop-up retail is so clever. Each shop is formed from a shipping container which sounds quite unglamorous but I assure you it isn’t. There is such a trendiness about Boxpark and with each shop being a mini version of the brand, you can get a taster shopping experience before exploring the real thing.

I particularly like visiting Dum Dums Donutterie which by the way feature the most amazing baked doughnuts, my favourite being the Zebra cronut (a cross between a doughnut and a croissant).

In Boxpark, I also recommend visiting places like skincare brand Kiehls and the stunning jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu.

3

Spitalfields Market

Spitalfields market has that on trend vibe running through it. I love the fact that the shops are bricked buildings, adding a touch of chic to the experience.  Shops worth a mention are Jo Malone, Bobbi Brown, and Benefit (where I have loved getting my brows done). There are also more boutique style individual businesses to check out.

Blixen is a stylish and contemporary place for eating with lots of plants bringing that outdoor feeling in. It is so photogenic with a mix of wood and marble interior – an Instagrammer’s dream.

If you step outside of the market and you love healthy food shops, you will love pottering in As Nature Intended to pick up some guilt free snacks. It is such a cute grocery store featuring so many eating ideas for those healthy choices. I love the variety there and the fresh produce.

Devonshire Square

Devonshire Square is one of those places that is tucked away a short walk away from Liverpool Street Station. It feels so calming and a place to escape from the business of Shoreditch. It consists of office space, shops, homes, restaurants and bars. The character is so lovely and I especially like the fact that there is a Planet Organic there. I recommend picking up a healthy juice and sitting on one of the outdoor tables for a little pick me up.

Broadgate

Broadgate Exchange Square is situated behind Liverpool street station and provides an outdoor area for entertainment such as winter ice skating and summer arts and sport. Recently I saw a statue of a big baby there, which I think has been replaced by a gorilla now! There are many bars and restaurants there and it is a trendy cut through to more Shoreditch exploring. They even filmed some James Bond scenes in the Broadgate area.

Liverpool Street Station

It feels funny to talk about a train/underground station but I really love Liverpool Street Station for pottering the likes of Lush, Boots and Neals Yard. These shops are right at your fingertips. I love the upstairs for shopping and if your train is delayed (or like me you like shopping there anyway), you will not be bored. The station itself, although busy, feels spacious and light.

Have you visited Shoreditch before? What are your favourite places to visit there? Will you be checking out one of the places mentioned?
